Optical Illusions

I recently got a new glasses with a new prescription. For the first few days everything looked slanted. I called the doctor and I said there is something wrong with this prescription. Until today when I looked at table it was straight. With these new glasses, it looks like things are going to slide off any second.
"Rabbi, it is just the opposite. Until today when you looked at the table it looked crooked, but you were so used to it, that it became your way of perceiving straight. Now now we have corrected your vision, what you see looks crooked to you, but really is the real straight. As soon as you will get used to it, it won't seem crooked anymore."
I obviously didn't believe the doctor... What do you mean what is straight is really crooked??? But as the days went by, and I started to see straight again, I have to really consider this new piece of information, and try to apply it in other areas of my life.
Is that person really being annoying, or is it me that is annoyed? Is this place really uninviting, or am I being snobbish? Is this thing making me painful, or am I looking to blame my pain on something outside of me?
If I'm not sure, maybe I need new glasses.
