Giving and Getting

On Rosh Hashanah I was talking to a close friend of mine who is not in the program who asked me “according to the secret the more your put energy out in to the world, the more it comes back to you. That works for both positive and negative things. So why do spend so much time saying the word I am ___ and I am an Alcoholic? Doesn’t that create negative energy and patterns?”

I answered him that when I say that at a meeting it is for the purpose of lasering in a problem that I am fixing and taking proactive steps to improve my life. In order to really explain the energy I am sending out into the universe I would have to say “My name is Benji and I am an alcoholic and I am taking steps and actions every day to make sure that I am changing my life so that I can live Happy, Joyous, and Free. Here are the 164 pages that I read myself, and read with others in order to accomplish my goals”
